The infamous U.S. government’s Counter Intelligence Program (COINTELPRO) was established to “discredit, frame, neutralize, imprison, and kill” Black, White, Brown, Red, and Yellow political activists in this nation who dared to question and oppose the unjust policies, official narrative, lies, and hypocrisy of the U.S. power elite.

COINTELPRO was initially put into operation by the FBI (Federal Bureau of Investigation) and its many police and ‘news’ media operatives in the 1950s. It was expanded and intensified in the 1960s and 1970s. In this year of 2013, COINTELPRO has still never ended, but rather has been insidiously codified into law through multiple means and devices, including the so-called ‘PATRIOT Act,’ provision 1021 of the NDAA (National Defense Authorization Act), and Barack Obama’s ‘Kill List,’ etc.

Assata Shakur, who is a veteran of the Black Panther Party, was shot, framed, brutalized, and imprisoned in 1973 by police and U.S. government authorities. Assata had long been a target of FBI actions to “defame, infiltrate, and criminalize” the Black Panther Party as well as other Black, White, Brown, Red, and Yellow individual political activists and organizations throughout the United States.

In 1977, on incredibly flimsy and fabricated evidence, Assata Shakur was unjustly convicted of being a supposed accomplice to murder. Subsequently, in 1979, Assata escaped from the brutal confines of wrongful imprisonment in the U.S. and was subsequently granted political asylum by Cuba, where she continues to reside.

In early May of 2013, drone man Barack Obama’s FBI outrageously designated the 65-year-old Assata Shakur as a so-called ‘most wanted terrorist’ and increased the bounty for her capture to 2 million dollars. Ironically, Barack Obama’s government, to this very day, operates the prison torture chambergulag at Guantanamo at the ill gotten and unwanted U.S. military base in Guantanamo, Cuba. The irony and hypocrisy of this is inescapable; for even as detainees at the U.S. prison gulag at Guantanamo are tortured, terrorized, and denied basic legal and human rights, Barack Obama’s FBI had the unmitigated audacity to designate Assata Shakur as a so-called ‘terrorist.’ It does not take a rocket scientist to see and understand that the actual ‘terrorist’ is the NDAA signing, drone man Barack Obama, and his hypocritical corporate-owned minions of the Democrat and Republican parties. This hypocrisy is not lost in the minds of everyday ordinary, conscious people nationally and globally.

It is absolutely incumbent upon all conscious people of good will, irrespective of color or gender, to denounce this latest unjust and hypocritical act of systemic terror and subterfuge against Assata Shakur, remembering that this action by (the U.S. chief executive and commander-in-chief) Barack Obama’s government is designed and intended to distort, distract, repudiate and stifle the past and ongoing just and necessary struggles of everyday ordinary people for economic, political, and social justice and human rights in this nation and throughout Mother Earth. This is an egregious attack on justice-loving peopleeverywhere.

Our denunciations must be genuine, consistent, and in keeping with principledpolitical struggle.

Angela Davis & the persecution of Assata Shakur

As recently as 2012, Angela Davis, made the stunning declaration that Barack Obama “identifies with the Black radical tradition.” (Reference the Black Agenda Report, March 27, 2012, article by Glen Ford, titled Angela Davis Has Lost Her Mind Over Obama.

Subsequently, in an April 13, 2012, Intrepid Report article, titled The election ‘con’ and Angela Davis: Ignoring history and losing their minds, I wrote in relevant part, “If anything, the wily Barack Obama stands in very real opposition not only to the “Black radical tradition,” but also to the radical (i.e.,root) traditions of people of all colors in this nation and throughout the world who hunger and thirst for self determination, transparency in government, actualized justice, and an end to corporate/military hegemony.”

Now, that drone man Barack Obama’s FBI has blatantly attacked Assata Shakur, Ms. Davis, on May 3, 2013, Democracy Now show stated, in relevant part, that “ . . . it was a major shock to hear that Assata Shakur has become the first woman to be added to the FBI’s Most Wanted Terrorists list and then to learn that they’re adding another million dollars to the reward, the bounty . . . in the 21^st century, at the beginning of the 21^st century, we’re still fighting around the very same issues—police violence, healthcare, education, people in prison and so forth . . .” It is amazing how Ms. Davis studiously side-stepped and avoided making pointed and specific reference to the deep complicity of chief executive and commander-in-chief Barack Obama in the attack upon Assata Shakur and against all justice-loving people! How could she possibly be genuinely “shock[ed]” at the actions of drone man Barack Obama’s FBI against Assata? Does she still insist that Barack Obama “identifies with the Blackradical tradition?” Is she still in a state of delusion? She cannot have it both ways simultaneously and neither can we everyday ordinary people!

I reiterate: The attack on our sister, Assata Shakur, is an attack on all of us.

The scum floats to the top

Until we, the everyday ordinary people, systemically and collectively change this nation from the bottom up, the adage that says, “America is like a melting pot—the people at the bottom get burned and the scum floats to the top;” will continue to be accurate.

U.S. government subterfuge and entrapment have been increased tenfold at home and abroad under the Obama/Biden regime. Africa and the so-called ‘Middle East’ have been bombed mercilessly and incessantly by the U.S. and its proxies, including the U.S-backed Israeli Zionist military machine. Adherence to the U.S. Constitution and international law is essentially null and void in this national security de facto police-state. COINTELPRO continues unabated at home, while perpetual U.S. wars, corporate blood sucking and hegemony are the yoke under which the everyday people of this nation and world are suffering. U.S. political prisoners are brutalized and languish in prison gulags throughout this nation even as other prisoners are tortured and denied their legal and human rights at the U.S. run torture chambers at Guantanamo and elsewhere.

The U.S. corporate-stream media continues as the propaganda arm for a government that is running totally amuck. Yet, none of these conditions have to remain this way—but it will take uncompromising hard work to change this systemically manipulated insanity. It does NOT have to be this way once we understand that enough is enough!

Keep the words of Howard Zinn in your minds, when he said, “If you don’t know your history it is as if you were born yesterday. And if you were born yesterday, anybody up there in a position of power can tell you anything, and you have no way of checking up on it.” KNOW your history and tell YOUR collective narratives!

We everyday people are at the bottom of the systemic pyramid. We are its very foundation. Thus, we must collectively shake and reshape this pyramid until the blood sucking elite at the top of it come tumbling down and are relegated to the dustbin of history. Despite our perceived differences, we MUST do this thing TOGETHER. We must tell our collective narratives and reject the top-down narrative of the power elite, and its lackeys, including the corporate-stream media. Stop being duped!

Let us free ourselves from this systemic political, economic, and social enslavement. Let us rejoin the human family and once more become the stewards and guardians of our precious Mother Earth for ourselves and each other!

Much of the leadership of the so-called ‘progressives’ in the U.S. has for the past five years amply and repeatedly demonstrated what can only be accurately described as crass opportunism and hypocrisy.

When U.S. wars of imperialism and aggression, predicated upon lies, were being waged by the George W. Bush regime, so-called ‘progressives’ were loudly denouncing such polices. But ever since the onslaught of the double-talking, war mongering, drone man, “Kill List’ Barack Obama and his Democrat and Republican minions, their silence has been deafening and their ongoing complicity in this regard, against everyday ordinary Black, White, Brown, Red, and Yellow people in this nation and throughout Mother Earth can only be described as despicable.

In this year of 2013, Barack Obama, with the continuing silence and complicity of much of the leadership of so-called progressives in the U.S. has already gonefar beyond the egregious actions of his predecessors in the White House. Progressives are hypocritically rationalizing perpetual U.S. wars, drones, Guantanamo, the NDAA, Obama’s ‘Kill List,’ intense government subterfuge & entrapment, outrageous corporate hegemony, and the flagrant disregard for civil liberties, human rights, the U.S. Constitution, and international law. These so-called progressives in this nation are in fact helping to facilitate the veiled, velvet-gloved de facto U.S. fascism in ‘black face’ of Barack Obama.

This complicity on the part of many so-called progressives in this nation did not begin in 2013. It has been ongoing for years now. In the November, 2009,Born Black Magazine article titled, Silence of the Lambs? Liberal Hypocrisy and the Complicity of the Left, I wrote in relevant part, “In fact, the black elite (working in conjunction with the white elite) are key linchpins for the deepening unemployment, economic oppression, and disenfranchisement of the masses of everyday Black people, and indeed all economically oppressed and disenfranchised people. As Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. made crystal clear, “There is a time when silence isbetrayal.” The silence and betrayal by ‘progressives’ in their onerous and hypocritical support for the constant outrages against everyday people, nationally and globally, by the Obama/Biden regime speaks volumes as to how incredibly disingenuous and dangerous they actually are. These supposed progressives are not progressive at all. They are opportunistic frauds and hypocrites – enemies of the ordinary everyday struggling Black, White, Brown, Red, and Yellow people of this nation and world.

We must remember the words of Malcolm X, when he said, “I’m for truth, no matter who tells it. I’m for justice, no matter who it is for or against. I’m a human being, first and foremost, and as such I’m for whoever and whatever benefits humanity as a whole.” The leadership of the fake progressives in this nation are not “for truth” nor are they “for justice.” They are for themselves, and certainly not for “humanity as a whole.”

Silence is complicity and it really is betrayal – betrayal of the aspirations and legitimate needs of everyday people. Our task is to be true to principles in this long and protracted people’s struggle. It is time to creatively build a conscious people’s movement that is steeped firmly in principles that is an integral part of the everyday people’s in this nation that “benefits humanity as a whole.”

The Justice for the Craigavon Two group welcome todays acquittal of Brian Shivers, Brian’s case has many similarities with the case of the Craigavon Two, Brendan McConville and John Paul Wootton.

Shocking new evidence came to light during the retrial in which it was learned that the truth regarding the forensic analysis had been either hidden or lied about by the original forensic witness, it turned out to be the case that the items recovered from the car namely a phone and matches were covered in multiple DNA profiles this clearly undermined  further the case against Brian Shivers.

Rather than concede that Brian was an innocent man the PPS brought further charges of aiding and abetting, again with no new evidence.

Today Brian Shivers was rightly acquitted based on the lack of evidence presented, it has been a terrible ordeal for the man who is severely ill. His lawyer rightly pointed out that the case against Brian Shivers has been a serious miscarriage of Justice.

The questions now needing answered is who is controlling the justice system in the north of Ireland? Following the revelations in Brian’s case and following the clear attempt to sabotage the appeals of the Craigavon Two. Who is answerable? Who will stand trial for perjury? Who will investigate the investigators during the original arrests and convictions in 2009? The politicians and media applauded the justice system following the convictions, those same politicians and media condemned those who were convicted. Following today’s acquittal there is an eerie silence from those same politicians once so vocal.

Something stinks to high heaven in the Justice system and unless it is fixed more and more people will fall victim to this corrupt system.

A Co. Antrim councillor who belongs to a group set up to campaign for the release of two men convicted of killing police officer Stephen Carroll believes she may be under security force surveillance.

Anita Cavlan, who is an independent councillor in Ballymoney, says she has been told she may be monitored because of her involvement with the Justice for the Craigavon Two Campaign Group.

Her claim comes in the wake of a court hearing earlier this week where the PSNI was accused of trying to “sabotage” the appeals launched by Craigavon men Brendan McConville (41) and John Paul Wootton (21).

Last night Gerry Conlon, who was wrongfully convicted of the IRA Guildford pub bombings, also spoke of his unease amid claims that police named him to a man who was being questioned about the case last week.

The Justice for the Craigavon Two Campaign Group was set up last year to highlight claims of innocence by McConville and Wootton who were convicted of Mr Carroll’s murder last May.The Officer died after being shot in the head by a Continuity IRA sniper as he and his colleagues answered a hoax emergency call at Lismore Manor in Craigavon in March 2009.

McConville was told he will have to serve a minimum of 25 years in jail while Wootton will serve at least 14 years behind bars.

An appeal hearing into the case was supposed to start on Monday but was adjourned after it emerged that a key defence witness was arrested and held by police for two days last week before being released without charge.

It also emerged that the man is a relative of Witness M who gave evidence against Brendan McConville during last year’s trial.

In a statement given to McConville’s defence team last month he branded Witness M as a “compulsive liar”.

The arrest was made after a surveillance operation, which is understood to have focused on a number of people.

Mr Conlon, who is chairman of the Justice for the Craigavon Two Campaign Group, attended this week’s court hearing with Paddy Hill of the Birmingham Six.

He said his name was mentioned to Witness M’s relative when he was being questioned by police.

“My name was brought up and while it’s not surprising it is disturbing” he said. “They obviously know my background and they know what I stand for”. “There are times when you praise the police for their investigations into miscarriages of justice, I understand the need for them “. “But I also understand the need for transparency in order to have faith in the institutions”. “its not me that calls the institutions into question, its the institutions themselves.”

Last night Anita Cavlan, who is a former Sinn Fein councillor, claimed she has been told she may have been under surveillance because of her work in the Justice for the Craigavon Two Group. “Everything I am doing is above board and perfectly legal and, as we know from previous incidents, people can be fitted up to try to put them off being involved in justice campaigns,” the independent councillor said. “I am an elected representative and part of a legal justice campaign and we are being snooped on.”

Mr McConville’s solicitor Kevin Winters said he will ask the Court of Appeal to allow the Criminal Cases Review Commission to oversee the PSNI investigation into matters relating to the new witness.

A Spokesman for the PSNI said “While we can not comment on named  individuals, anyone with a complaint about the actions of the police is advised to contact the office of the Police Ombudsman.”

Subterfuge is defined by the American College Dictionary as, “A deceptive stratagem or device.” In other words, the essence of subterfuge is deceit and stealth.

The very foundation of the Barack Obama regime, his Democrat and Republican Party accomplices, and the corporate-stream ‘news and information’ media is the incessant application of deceit and stealth. The corporate/military power elite of this nation have insidiously stifled “unrestricted freedom of press and assembly” and “a free struggle of opinion.” In particular, television, radio, and newspapers are, in this year of 2013, overwhelmingly corporate owned and controlled. Translation: The message propagated by this media is a skewed, manipulated, and lopsided one. Opinion is manufactured.

Most U.S. academic institutions and academicians are nothing more than (overt or covert) systemic clones of and for the corporate/military power elite of this nation. A vigorous and free “struggle of opinion” and ideas has been, in the fallacious name of allegedly combating ‘terrorism,’ made essentially null and void or nonexistent by the U.S. corporate-stream media. A truly informed populace is deemed to be a subversive populace. Thus, the U.S. power elite engages in a constant well-honed strategy of unceasing subterfuge against everyday ordinary Black, White, Brown, Red, and Yellow people of this nation and world. Their end-game remains the same: Keep the everyday people lethargic, in fear, and controlled.

Mr. Drone man, ‘Kill List’ Barack Obama remains, at this time, the most powerful weapon against the legitimate needs, interests, and aspirations of everyday ordinary Black, White, Brown, Red, and Yellow people nationally and globally. His rhetoric and policies continue to be steeped in deceit and stealth. And contrary to U.S. corporate-stream media propaganda, it is not the Internet that is responsible for so-called ‘terrorist’ attacks against U.S. citizens. Rather, it is the policies of the global corporate/military elite’s hegemony against the peoples of this nation and throughout Mother Earth—carried out by the stealthy drone man, Barack Obama, and his minions—masked in the rhetoric of deceit.

Subterfuge is not democracy. Subterfuge, deceit, and non-transparency in this U.S. corporate-owned government are the enemies of a genuine functioning people’s democracy.

It behooves us all to remember the words of Lucy Parsons, when she said, “Never be deceived that the rich will allow you to vote away their wealth.” It should be noted that the enormous wealth of the corporate elite is in fact not really theirs. It is a wealth built upon the backs of struggling everyday ordinary Black, White, Brown, Red, and Yellow men and women in this nation and around the world.

Barack Obama and his Democrat and Republican accomplices know full well that an unfettered and informed free flow of information would spell doom for the avaricious blood sucking corporate elite. Thus, the corporate-government and its propaganda arm—the corporate-stream media—are determined to keep the masses of everyday people in a state of lethargy, ignorance, and fear.

It is the obligation and responsibility of people of conscience and good will to resist and reverse this insidious political, economic, and social oppression. And it is the obligation and responsibility of people of all colors to collectively do this, in the words of the late Malcolm X, “By any means necessary.”

It is time to say a resounding NO to subterfuge, perpetual wars, the NDAA, Obama’s ‘Kill List’ and drones (at home and abroad), Guantanamo, and the endless manipulation and political pimping of the terrible pain of everyday people everywhere. It is time to intensify in this long and protracted struggle for justice and real human rights. We everyday ordinary people are all oppressed and exploited. And in the poignant words of Howard Zinn, “The memory of oppressed people is one thing that cannot be taken away, and for such people, with such memories, revolt is always an inch below the surface.” Despite whatever differences we everyday people might have with one another, we must do this thing TOGETHER.

Statement from the ‘Justice for the Craigavon Two’ campaign group. 29/04/13

Today both Brendan McConville and John Paul Wootton were returned to Maghaberry Jail on the first day of their appeal against the wrongful conviction for the killing of PSNI officer, Constable Carroll.

It was with a sense of disbelief in the opening moments of the hearing that the public prosecution service called for an immediate adjournment due to what they called fresh evidence coming forward from a covert intelligence operation.

This ‘intelligence’ is purporting to the arrest of a new defence witness. This defence witness is a close relation of the key prosecution witness (Witness M) who is central to the original prosecution case.

The new witness had made a statement which discredited the original testimony of witness M and we believe that the arrest was used as a tool of intimidation as the new Witness was released unconditionally within 48 hours of being arrested.

This development indicates the lack of factual evidential information surrounding this case, rather it is a case built upon the dubious practices of covert agents and surveillance.

This practice has now been extended to the defendants’ legal team, family members and members of the Craigavon Two campaign committee, who it has now been revealed were subjected to a covert surveillance and recording operation.

What began as a call for Justice for the Craigavon Two has now clearly been shown to be a case of Justice for us all with the full implementation of the justice system in an open and transparent fashion, free from interference from unaccountable agents of the intelligence services.

In light of today’s events, and the additional delay in hearing of this case, which means that the defendants will have already served nine year sentences we call for both Brendan and John Paul to be released immediately on bail pending the withdrawal of what has now become a farcical and unsustainable conviction.

The narrative [i.e. the stories] of struggling everyday ordinary Black, White, Brown, Red, and Yellow people in this nation and throughout Mother Earth, must be told and retold, by we ourselves, in-perpetuity. If we do not consistently present our collective narrative, our past and current struggles for social, economic, and political justice will be twisted, disfigured, distorted, and/or omitted by systemic usurpers.

In this year of 2013, it is obvious that the struggle for human and political rights in the U.S. has been thwarted by usurpers and systemic gatekeepers and misleaders from the so-called left and the so-called right who are owned by their corporate masters. The end game remains: Keep everyday people distracted, divided, and manipulated. But it doesn’t have to be this way.

The horrors of COINTELPRO [the infamous U.S. Counter Intelligence Program to 'discredit, frame, imprison, and/or murder' politically active people of conscience] have never ceased, continue unabated, and have in fact, beenintensified. These horrors, under drone man Barack Obama, have now been legally codified via the Patriot Act, the NDAA (provision 1021), the ‘Kill List,’ and the ongoing U.S. prison gulag at Guantanamo, etc. The internal and external subterfuge of ‘false flag’ operations (which are designed by the U.S. corporate / military elite – and so-called ‘intelligence’ gathering organizations – with the deep complicity of the U.S. corporate-stream ‘news’ media) to keep everyday people in fear, divided and submissive are at an all time high. The perpetual wars and/or U.S. military incursions throughout the world perpetuates ‘terrorism’ and is, in itself, state-sponsored terror. The shredding of the U.S. Constitution (at home) and the demonstrated contempt for international law (abroad) by the Obama/Biden regime in concert with his Democrat and Republican cohorts is self-evident to conscious persons. The active militarization by the Obama regime of local and state police departments throughout the U.S. and the enormous arms build-up by the so-called Department of Homeland Security (DHS) is further indication that the United States is not becoming a police state – it already is a de facto police state.

Moreover, the ongoing imprisonment and the physical and/or psychological torture of the vast amount of U.S. political prisoners of all colors, languishing in this nation’s prison gulag system, is an obscene and continuing outrage beyond description. And the U.S. ‘justice’ system is an integral part and parcel of this obscene outrage. Human and political rights in the U.S. is an utter farce. And it will continue to be such until everyday people collectively say, “NO MORE!” and systemically CHANGE IT!

The Silence of Our ‘Friends’

So where are the so-called ‘liberals’ and ‘progressives’ as all of the above outrages are being carried out by the Obama/Biden regime? Where is the mass outrage from these segments that was so prevalent during the Bush/Cheney regime?

Much (if not most) of the leadership of so-called ‘liberals’ and ‘progressives’ in this nation are deafeningly “silent,” and therefore deeply complicit, in the perpetuation of these outrages at home and abroad. This leadership, or more appropriately described – this misleadership, are the fifth-column systemic gatekeepers for the continued political, economic, and social emaciation of everyday ordinary Black, White, Brown, Red, and Yellow people in this nation and abroad. They are, in reality, worse than hypocrites. Hiding under the fallacious cover of Barack Obama and so-called ‘political correctness,’ they are in fact perpetuating austerity and racism at home, and perpetual war, torture, and terror abroad. They are the willing color and/or gender token-puppets for this deranged, blood sucking corporate-owned U.S. political system. These privileged so-called ‘liberals’ and ‘progressives’ know full well that human rights inside the U.S. itself is a well perpetuated fraud from which they benefit by pretending to be the guardians of, in real terms, virtually non-existent human and political rights in this nation. They obfuscate and distort the narrative of everyday people’s struggles. They too, are usurpers of the people’s struggles. There are no words to adequately describe the pernicious and insidious role that they play and the enormous harm that they perpetrate upon millions of everyday ordinary people.

The very last thing that the misleadership of the so-called left and right want to occur, is for the ordinary everyday people of this nation (and world) to directly communicate with one another, identify our common interests, and collectivelythrow off our political and economic yokes.

Claim No Easy Victories

The long and protracted struggle of people in this nation and throughout the world for human rights and justice is not an easy one. And there is the ever-present reality of discreditation attempts, frame-ups and/or the risk of imprisonment against those of us engaged in this most necessary and serious struggle. Yet, this is to be expected and must not deter us. In the words of Amilcar Cabral, we must, “Claim no easy victories.”

Barack Obama, and his ilk, are simply the latest in a long line of enemies of the everyday people everywhere. To be sure, the U.S. and global power elite are, even now, grooming others to carry on their insipid hegemonic plans. But as the old adage says, “Forewarned is forearmed.”

We, the everyday ordinary people of Mother Earth, already know that we should expect systemic pawns to use every dastardly tactic at their disposal to thwart and ‘neutralize’ us. But we should also know and remember that we are the overwhelming majority, and by staying focused, vigilant, persistent, and determined – we the people – shall succeed. So, “claim no easy victories,” butdo claim the right and necessity to struggle for victories!
