79 year old peace activist Margaretta D’Arcy with Parkinson’s Disease has been imprisoned in Limerick Prison for refusing to sign a bond agreeing not to peacefully protest against the use of Shannon airport by US warplanes. Margaretta was also imprisoned in Armagh Gaol in 1980 for refusing to pay a fine imposed on her because of her support for republican POWs in Armagh Gaol (for more details see here).
Margaretta is also a playwright who co-authored the Non-Stop Connolly Show.
