  1. One major feature of this year’s St Patrick’s Festival in Glasgow is a lecture and concert in St Andrew’s in the Square, on 8th March to mark the centenary of the great Dublin Lockout.

Click on the link for more information and to purchase tickets. The speaker will be Francy Devine, former President of the Irish Labour History Society and editor ofthe journal Saothar; ex-tutor in the SIPTU Education and Training Department. The entertainment will be provided by Arthur Johnstone and the Laggan, Paul McKenna and John Joe Gallagher. They will sing working class songs about Larkin, Connolly and the Lockout. The event which is funded by Unison and sponsored by Unite promises to be a great night.

There are a lot of other events being organised so hopefully there is something to appeal to everyone who wants to celebrate their Irish heritage.
